Hy thanks for this e-mail, but I still have this problem. To be more explicit I configured the samhain server as ./configure --enable-network=server, and when I type '/etc/init.d/yule start' the logfile yule_log and yule.html aren't in the directory /var/log/yule. I have a samhain client in windows and the server yule in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4. I analyze the network traffic and they have communication and in the logfile of the client everything is ok. When I run 'yule -p info -l info --foreground' this is the output:
ALERT : [2007-04-24T14:12:15-0400] msg=<START>, program=<Yule>, userid=<2>, path=</etc/yulerc>, hash=<CA02EAC338303262C4F6D535834DDF98978C580DBB82A3B1> ERROR : [2007-04-24T14:12:15-0400] msg=<File not accessible>, userid=<2>, path=</var/log/yule/yule_log> ERROR : [2007-04-24T14:12:15-0400] msg=<Service failure>, service=<logfile>, obj=</var/log/yule/yule_log>
Could not set up the listening socket for the server because of the following error: Address already in use Possible reasons include:
ALERT : [2007-04-24T14:12:15-0400] msg=<PANIC Address already in use>, program=<Yule>, subroutine=<bind> ERROR : [2007-04-24T14:12:15-0400] msg=<File not accessible>, userid=<2>, path=</var/log/yule/yule.html> ALERT : [2007-04-24T14:12:15-0400] msg=<EXIT>, program=<Yule>, status=<None>
In my case the port 49777 is free and UID 0 is the root, I don't understand. Please I'm waiting your answer. Thanks
